Project Inspiration

For my Visual Communication project I had to create something that was based on my very own'Sence of Place'. I decided that the place where I feel that I belong is down my nanny Roses house. The items that remind me most of my nans house are cushions,this is because as a child when my nan used to put me to bed she would put cusions and pillows all around me so that I would be safe and wouldnt fall out of bed when I was sleeping.I made the decision that for my final piece I would create a cushion, but personalise it by putting photos of people that mean alot to me on it. I felt that this idea was good to show my very own 'sence of place' as I have an item that used to make me feel safe as a child and I have personalised it so that it includes the people that mean the most to me on it. To create this piece I had to create a collage of images that I wanted to include on my cushion, the I had to send it away so that it could get printed professionally.

I decided to include the Keep Calm and Carry On logo in my collage as that is one of the sayings that keeps me going if I ever have a down day or I am upset about something. Hopefully the collage looks good when it has been printed on to the cushion..

Comparing Text Images

Today in Visual Communications we used four different web sites to create images using text, the websites we used were:

I really enjoyed creating all the different text images, and I feel that they make my blog look interesting. My favourite out of all four images is the one that I created on text-image.com. It looks the most creative out of the four and I am very happy with my results :)

Technology in Schools Nowadays..

I would like to share with you the experience of technology I encountered when I went on my placement to Glyncollen Primary School. I was in the nursery classroom in the morning and the reception classroom in the afternoon, both classrooms had interactive white boards, a laptop and a music player. On the second afternoon that i was in the reception class the children watched the nativity story on the white board, they also answered a few questions about the nativity. It was really enjoyable as all of the children were interacting together. The school hall also had a music player and a projector. Thursday years 4, 5 and 6 had a dress rehearsal and the rest of the school were able to watch. As it was the day of the Christmas dinner, after the children finished their lunch they watched ‘Polar Bear’ express on the huge projector in the hall. I feel that technology has developed so far in schools since I was a pupil.  They now have interactive white boards and the children are able to work as a class to do an activity which i feel is good because it brings the class together. J
